Revision Rounds: Buffer Space for Each Stage
Revision rounds let you build explicit buffer segments into stages that involve client review — instead of vaguely folding revision time into the stage duration.
What are revision rounds?
When a stage has revision rounds set, it splits into multiple segments on the timeline:
- Main work segment — the days for the actual work
- Revision buffer segment(s) — one segment per revision round
Day counts for each segment are calculated automatically based on the total stage length. You can also drag segment boundaries directly in the timeline to resize them.
Setting revision counts during setup
In Step 2 of the Project Setup wizard:
- Find the stage you want to configure
- Click ”+” next to the revision count to increase it, or ”−” to decrease
- The range is 0 to 4 rounds
- Once set, the timeline will automatically split that stage into the appropriate segments
Adding a revision round in the timeline
If you need to add a revision round while the project is in progress:
- Click the target stage in the timeline
- In the stage settings panel on the right, find the “Revision Rounds” section
- Click ”+” to add a round
- The timeline updates immediately — a new revision buffer segment is inserted after that stage
Adding a revision round increases the total length of that stage. With sync mode on, later stages shift back automatically. If the deadline is fixed, check the compression suggestions after adding rounds to make sure the timeline still fits.
Removing a revision round in the timeline
If a revision round finishes early and you want to reclaim the time:
- Click the target stage
- In the stage settings panel, find the “Revision Rounds” section
- Click ”−” to remove a round
- The timeline shortens immediately, and the freed-up days are available for later stages
Adjusting individual segment sizes
Once in the timeline, you can manually resize each segment:
- Hover over the boundary between two segments until the drag cursor appears
- Drag left or right to adjust the proportion between adjacent segments
- The total day count for the stage stays the same — only the internal proportions change
