Compression Suggestions

When the timeline runs past the deadline, Nimoo automatically surfaces compression suggestions to help you quickly find which stages have room to give.

When does it appear?

Compression suggestions are triggered when:

  • The deadline moves forward and the current schedule now runs over
  • Adding a revision round or extending a stage pushes the timeline past the deadline

When the timeline exceeds the deadline, a warning banner appears at the top showing how many days over you are.

How to view suggestions

  1. Click “View compression suggestions” on the warning banner

  2. The compression suggestion panel opens with a list of compressible stages

The system prioritizes stages with larger proportions, but that doesn’t mean they’re guaranteed to be compressible — you make the final call. Locked stages don’t appear in the list.

  3. Each stage shows:

    • Current day count
    • Suggested compressed day count
    • Real-time display of remaining over-deadline days after applying the suggestion

Applying suggestions

Once you’ve reviewed the list, click “Apply suggestions” to update the timeline immediately.

If you’re still over the deadline after applying, click “View compression suggestions” again and keep adjusting until the timeline fits.

Fine-tuning suggestions

Every stage’s day count in the panel is directly editable — you don’t have to take the suggestions as given:

  • If a suggestion feels too aggressive, increase the number in the input field
  • If you don’t want to compress a particular stage, set it back to the original value
  • Stages with revision rounds can be expanded to adjust each sub-segment individually

As you make changes, the remaining over-deadline count in the top-right of the panel updates in real time, so you always know whether your current setup fits within the deadline.
