Version History: Snapshots & Restore
Nimoo’s version history lets you go back to any previous state of the timeline, no matter how many edits you’ve made. Every version stores the complete timeline — all stages, dates, and revision round settings.
There are two types: auto-snapshots and pinned versions.
Auto-snapshots
Every time you make a change to the timeline, the system saves a snapshot automatically about 2.5 seconds later. Auto-snapshots are labeled with the save time and don’t have a custom name.
Changes made within the same browser window keep overwriting the same auto-snapshot. A new snapshot is created when you reopen the timeline or open it in a new tab.
Auto-snapshots have a limit. When the limit is reached, the oldest one is removed. If you want to keep a particular auto-snapshot long-term, pin it from the version history drawer — pinned versions are never auto-deleted.
Pinned versions (manual save)
To proactively save the current state at a specific point, you have two options:
Save directly:
- Click the “Save Version” button in the top-right of the timeline
- Enter a version name (e.g. “Client approved v2”, “Pre-proposal backup”) — or leave it blank
- Confirm — the version is saved
Pin an auto-snapshot:
- Open the version history drawer and find the auto-snapshot you want to keep
- Click “Pin,” enter a name (optional), and confirm
Pinned versions also have a limit — keep only the versions that mark meaningful milestones.
Viewing version history
- Click the “Version History” button in the top-right of the timeline to open the drawer
- The list is divided into “Pinned Versions” and “Auto-snapshots,” sorted by time
Previewing a version
- In the version list, click “Preview” on any version
- The timeline switches to that version’s state — you can browse it fully
- You can’t edit during preview, only view
- Click “Exit Preview” to return to the current version
Restoring a version
- While previewing a version, click “Restore this version” if you want to switch to it
- The timeline switches to the selected version, and the restored state is automatically saved as a new snapshot in the background
